BAY AREA WAVE LACROSSE CLUB
Learn - Play - Represent...Coast to Coast
Home Page

The Bay Area WAVE is a club lacrosse team that focuses on high school and youth development.  We believe that out-of-season practice and competition are key to developing skills and knowledge of the game.  The club runs practices and attends competitions in both the Fall and Spring/Summer (virtually year-round, outside the school playing season.) Our teaching style, approach to fundamentals, drill selection, and competitive drive is a result of many years of high level experience.  Whether a player is just learning the game, or being recruited by colleges, the club serves most every level of player.  We serve both Middle School players and High School players through separate practice times/days.   Practices take place on the Peninsula (usually in Menlo Park). In addition to local competition versus other Bay Area clubs, players who are ready compete nationwide at showcase tournaments and recruiting events.  The club holds tryouts in September and May. Knowledgeable staff are hired from the local area, comprised of top high school and club coaches, as well as accomplished players.

Sign Ups:  Held each fall and summer.  Email bayareawave@gmail.com if interested in getting more information about joining.

As of summer 2009, three teams made up the WAVE: “Select” who compete nationally, “Futures” who compete locally, and "Devolopmental" who are middle schoolers that compete locally.  In total, the WAVE make up over 120 players.  Teams share coaches and practice facilities.  Knowledgeable staff are hired from the local area, comprised of top high school and club coaches, as well as accomplished players.

The WAVE was founded in 2004 by a 15 year veteran of the U.S.A. Women's National Team, Michele Uhlfelder.  Her Division 1 coaching experience includes 8 years as Head Coach at Stanford University, and 6 years as an assistant coach at Duke and Old Dominion Universities. The program began as Cardinal Elite, a high school development program for players residing within a 50 mile radius of Stanford University in Palo AltoCA.  The club now serves players as far as Sacramento.
